Abstract

The general objective of this study was to design pedagogical strategies based on the implementation of the school garden, focused on promoting citizen awareness committed to the achievement of the SDGs in ninth grade students of the Institution Etnoeducativa Nuestra Señora de Fátima, Moti headquarters. This research was developed under a quantitative experimental approach, working with a sample of 19 ninth grade students to whom a validated and dependable 18-question survey was applied. The results indicated that the participants had a basic knowledge of the school garden. It was also evident that the creation and maintenance of educational gardens has had a positive impact on their education, fostering values such as responsibility, solidarity, and respect. In conclusion, the involvement of teachers in the school garden project contributed significantly to the development of citizenship awareness in students.
