Diagnosis and management of children with ADHD at the Tufiño Educational Unit, Tulcán Canton
Abstract
The objective of this research was the diagnosis and management of children with ADHD at the Tufiño Educational Unit in Tulcán Canton. This research employed a mixed methodology, combining qualitative and quantitative approaches, to understand the different perceptions surrounding this disorder and to provide data that helps determine the prevalence of ADHD cases. The results indicate that the vast majority of students, teachers, and administrative staff lack in-depth knowledge of ADHD, and in cases where this disorder arises, they are not trained or equipped with the necessary tools to address these situations, highlighting a lack of information on the part of the relevant authorities. In conclusion, it was found that, within the academic counseling system, students with ADHD receive appropriate support to help them academically.
