Legal Impact on Judicial Decision-Making: An Empirical Study of Constitutional Judges, Riobamba, Ecuador
Abstract
The objective of this study was to analyze the legal impact on judicial decision-making: An empirical study of constitutional judges in Riobamba, Ecuador. Methodologically, a qualitative research approach was employed, which allowed for an in-depth exploration of the subjective, interpretive, and contextual dimensions of legal reasoning in judicial decisions. The findings regarding the impact of legal reasoning on judicial decision-making in the constitutional courts of Riobamba have provided a deeper understanding of how the quality of reasoning influences the legitimacy and justification of judicial rulings. The findings show that, in both theory and practice, clear, coherent, and sound reasoning is essential to ensuring decisions that are legitimate and accepted in the social sphere. In conclusion, sound, clear, and coherent reasoning is fundamental to the legitimacy of judicial decisions.
